Due to our continued growth, we are seeking Senior Electrification and Power Design Engineers to join our London and South East team. The successful candidate will be working towards a professional qualification and will have good design experience of delivering Electrification and Power projects to client’s satisfaction at the appropriate standard, ensuring accuracy of drawings and calculations, designs are economic and appropriate, and that the relevant codes and standards are complied with.

We are keen to talk to candidates who have experience in DC Traction Power substation, Electric Track Equipment (ETE) or Points Heating/Signalling Power design and are especialy keen on those who have undertaken Responsible Engineer duties (such as CRE) as we look to grow this team with individuals who have relevant experience, share our enthusiasm and have a determination to support our expanding organisation. Our clients are from the private and public sector across Europe and the Middle East and within the UK include HS2, Network Rail, London Underground, TFL, Nexus, TfGM, SYPTE, Centro and Croydon Tramlink, as well as various Tier 1 contractors. The team provides production of feasibility studies, Outline/scheme designs and detailed designs, assessment, inspection, construction support and management services.

Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local, national and international Rail infrastructure projects with key Rail projects currently under production by staff in our Croydon/London offices including:
  • Beckton Depot
  • Crossrail
  • Mersey Rail PSU
  • SRSA
  • Eastleigh Light Maintenance Depot
  • Lewisham Station redevelopment
Job Responsibilities:
  • Receive brief from Project Manager and cascade through team members.
  • Develop concept and detailed designs including calculations reports and specifications.
  • Check CAD drawings and design documentation produced by team members /Liaise with designers and CAD Technicians.
  • Prepare/check technical reports.
  • Support development of project specifications for construction.
  • Attend site during construction phase if necessary to ensure construction is in accordance with specifications/drawings.
  • Carry out risk assessments and provision of design information for Health and Safety file.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety including CDM
  • Good standard of written English and communication
  • Experienced in the use of Network Rail, London Underground, Railway Group Standards as well as the relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Support development of junior Engineers through continued learning and reviews.
