DLUHC has set out an ambitious Data Strategy with the aim of becoming a best-in-class, data enabled department, delivering their objectives better, faster, and cheaper.

We are looking for a Grade 6 Principal Enterprise Architect to lead the technical delivery of DLUHC�s Data Strategy. You will be working as part of the newly formed Data Transformation Team to enable interoperable autonomous data systems across DLUHC to ensure that data is well governed and delivered as a high-quality product. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of data systems at DLUHC, driving innovation and excellence through data enabled decisions and the foundation for AI.

You will provide strategic leadership to ensure delivery of a federated interoperable data ecosystem, working closely with Digital and delivery teams across DLUHC to implement their individual components. You will maintain and enhance a high-quality roadmap that contains a central view of DLUHC�s data ecosystem and its interdependencies, both as is and to be, and use it to prioritise delivery based on the DLUHC Data Strategy. You will build relationships and networks across DLUHC to provide guidance, training, and technical support to data system teams across DLUHC.

You will build and lead a new data transformation team which will include a Grade 7 Lead Data Governance Manager, and three other technical team members. You will work closely with the rest of the Data Transformation Team which include change management and capability uplift, delivery strategy, and programme management.

You will engage at a senior level with colleagues across the organisation, and, will need to have excellent judgement, the ability to work at pace, and to independently resolve complex issues. You will need to have a strong track record of delivering transformation across complex and diverse organisations such as DLUHC, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are looking for an individual who is motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic with great people and communication skills coupled with the technical expertise to deliver the vision of the DLUHC Data Strategy. Specifically, you will:

� lead on the strategic delivery of federated interoperable data ecosystem across DLUHC

� own the strategy and roadmaps to transition from the �as is� state to the �to be� vision and manage the transitional states

� work closely with existing teams within DLUHC, providing them with the necessary support and guidance to enable them to deliver their components of the interoperable data ecosystem

� commission work from contractors, building strong commercial relationships to ensure delivery of high value outputs

� work closely with the Grade 7 Data Governance Manager to embed the FAIR Data Principles into the delivered interoperable data ecosystem

� oversee the adoption of data standards within data systems across DLUHC

� be part of the Data Transformation Programme leadership and actively contributing to the reporting and advice given to DLUHC senior officials, the Steering Group and the Data Board, clearly communicating the nature of the developments, the complexities, and what is being delivered

� influence the wider government data landscape and best practices. Connect with peers across Government and industry to help make DLUHC a leader in data enabled operations

� develop a high-performing team, empowering them to take decisions, motivating them to do their best

Person specification

You will have:

experience working as an Enterprise Architect, or similar role, with a proven track record of delivering interoperable data systems, maintaining and delivering roadmaps, and the adoption of data standardstrack record of building effective collaborative relationships at all levels, both internal and external to the department, with a wide range of partners and delivering results through these partnerships to meet long-term strategic needsproven ability to synthesise complex issues effectively and at pace to all levels of the organisation including senior leaders: making it accessible to non-technical stakeholders and to use evidence and sound judgement to influence decision makersleadership of a team to deliver a strategic vision through motivating and valuing colleagues, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvementability to see the bigger picture and apply strategic thinking, including in times of change, and connect into government-wide activitiesdelivery at pace through an agile team, setting clear objectives, managing several competing business priorities, and ensuring delivery to tight deadlinesexperience of working on data transformation or significant data maturity improvements in a large complex organisation
