About the apprenticeship

Duties

Assist and support with any planned preventative maintenance activities on site, including that of related equipment and facilities.
To support the Maintenance team with any Mech/Elec breakdowns and/or installations within production areas as and when required.
To work alongside and shadow the Engineers within the Maintenance team so to support with daily tasks and projects.
To support and be involved with the continuous improvement of the Maintenance team alongside the long term departmental and organisational goals.
Support Maintenance Engineers with full diagnosis and repair of all equipment on site.
Follow day to day maintenance log sheets so to log activities.
Assist with the carry out of daily scheduled maintenance log sheets so to log activities.

Continuous Improvement
Be involved in Continuous Improvement activities as they arise
Be aware of opportunities to reduce costs and escalate to Line Manager.
Participate in overtime as required
Comply with all time and attendance targets
Maintain high standards of individual housekeeping and 5s People Development.
Assist/participate in Induction programmes for new starters
Take part in annual appraisal
Comply with time and attendance targets

Requirements

Qualifications

Working towards a HNC Technical qualification
Learning how to maintain an array of production and Facilities assets and processes.
Some experience and knowledge of automation and robot cells, chemical process line and CNC machining.
Be competent in reading and understanding Schematic drawings.
Good level of MS office and IT competence
Willing to learn best practices from experienced Engineers.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good attention to detail.
Good work ethic and timekeeping.
