Early Years Officer - fixed term until 27/06/
Granton Primary School Nursery

Salary: £32, - £37, (pro-rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: Various as below:

1 Post - 36 hours per week on a permanent basis
1 Post - 11.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis until 27/06/. Working Days Tuesday and Wednesday

Granton Primary and nursery class is a school in an area of multi-deprivation. We benefit from both Pupil Equity Funding and a Positive Action allocation.

We have a supportive Parent council and have developed good links with the community.

The Senior Leadership team consists of a Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, a Principal Teacher and a part time Business Manager.

The Early Years Officer (EYO) will act as key worker to individual children in the provision of the following services:

- Delivery of the pre-school curriculum

- Promotion of welfare and wellbeing of children, including child protection

- Supporting parents in a range of ways such as running parenting groups and advising parents how to care for their children

- Liaison with other staff and organisations to ensure that individual children are kept safe and input to the development of appropriate care packages

- Services to support children and their families delivered in partnership with schools, health staff and community education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
