The Equity and Inclusion Project Manager is a new role within the integrated Inclusion and Engagement Team hosted by Manchester City Council's Public Health Department but working across the wider Manchester Integrated Care Partnership. It provides an exciting opportunity to progress our work to address the health equity gaps experienced by many communities in the city.

Manchester has been at the forefront of championing equality and diversity for decades; we have had a long-term commitment to equality and making services, facilities and opportunities fair and inclusive. The development of the integrated Inclusion and Engagement team provides a significant opportunity to bring together resources and support the delivery of system-wide change.

You will provide project and programme management support to the integrated team, developing comprehensive information tools to track progress across complex systems. You will work across the Manchester locality, providing expert advice to stakeholders across health and care organisations, including the NHS and wider public and community services, leading on a number of strategy and policy projects to address health inequalities.

A key part of your role will involve providing expertise and guidance in relation to equalities work and the implications of legislation, policy and practice on Council and NHS GM (Manchester) decisions and actions.

You will also promote equality and inclusion in Manchester by embedding this into NHS GM (Manchester) and Council-wide activity and service delivery and via wide-ranging initiatives including work with internal and external partnerships. Close work with primary and secondary care organisations in the city will be an essential part of the role.

Using best practice and evidence to develop and deliver new and existing initiatives to support NHS GM (Manchester) and the Council’s equality objectives, you will provide expertise for health equality and inclusion matters. This will ensure that advancing equality and addressing inequalities is integral to the delivery of the city's ‘Our Manchester’ strategy, equality objectives and other relevant strategies
