Underbelly Boulevardis a live entertainment venue for music, cabaret, variety and comedy, comprising of a 200-capacity cabaret and music venue, a rehearsal room for hire, daytime hire for events, readings and workshops, anew publicbar and a restaurant.

JOB PURPOSE

To oversee the operations of the Boulevard's bars, ensuring excellent customer service, effective stock control and efficient procedures, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the bar and character of this beautiful bar in the heart of Soho. You will work closely with the wider venue team to provide a unique experience to all customers; whether they are seeing a show, hosting an event or just visiting the bar.

ROLE

Bar Management

  • Management of back-office operations but also the ability to be a hands-on manager, leading from the front.
  • Recruiting, onboarding and training new members of the team and creating dynamic staffing schedules.
  • Developing and updating drinks menus and shaping the character and concept of the bar.
  • Tracking and analysing profit & loss, maintaininga good level of profitabilitytodrive the business to meet budgets.
  • Maintain Health & Safety regulations.
  • Carry out all inventories and stock orders to reduce waste and improve margins.
  • Work with Events Manager to create drinks packages for private hires.

Other Duties

  • Attending regular company meetings.
  • Contributing to the development of the venues policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience managing bars.
  • Experience managing and motivating a team.
  • Confident, enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to recognise potential health and safety issues before they arise.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Positive, proactiveand flexible approach.
