The job itself
2 Support Workers required to assist a young lady living in Hutton Cranswick with personal care, medication, meal prep, social inclusion/interaction, emotional support, and domestic tasks.
2 people are required to cover 5 x 12 hour shifts per week, night or day, one for 24 hours and one for 36 hours. Please state your availability on your application.
Candidates will also support the lady with hospital stays: 12 hour shifts in the hospital setting on a rota basis. Full training will be given.
Evening shifts are waking night shifts.
Position includes intimate personal care therefore a genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
Lady can present with some challenging behaviours, however with consistency and the building of a good working relationship can be managed well.
Workers must be able to work with others as there will be days where support workers will be working alongside a care company. Candidates must be able to use their own initiative, be proactive and able to support with animals. The lady has a dog and two cats.
Full driving licence is essential as driving the lady's mobility car will be required.
Previous care experience and a qualification in care is desirable.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – cost to be met by the local authority.
