We are looking for a highly skilled Senior React Native Engineer to become part of our UK business and help develop and deliver our new App. As a Senior Engineer you will help develop a platform that brings a world automotive experience to the people who need it. With a passion for people and a strong growth mentality, you will enable us to deliver app solutions. In executing this mission, you will work closely with our engineers, architects, and product owners.

Location: UK, Remote

Main responsibilities:

You will be positioned as a Lead Contributor who will help us build a modern app platform that delivers an amazing user experience:
  • Strong contributor, delivering high-quality code by improving coding standards and best practices, taking into account wider requirements such as performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security.
  • Proactively contribute to the wider engineering department, through knowledge sharing, and architectural forums.
  • Support good agile team outcomes ensuring engineering decisions are made which factor in technical debt, systems design, stability/reliability, monitoring/observability and business needs.
  • Support making pragmatic trade-offs between perfection and technical debt which aligns with our priorities as a business.

Ideally we are looking for;
  • Proven experience as a commercial React Native Engineer with apps deployed on the Apple App Store/Google Play
  • You have a proven record of successfully integrating APIs from different sources into a common app platform (e.g backend-for-frontend experience)
  • Experience with using the Expo framework
  • Experience as a mobile or other engineer using other technologies such as Kotlin/Swift
  • Experience with creating and integrating native Kotlin/Swift modules
  • Demonstrable understanding of WCAG 2-0 AA compliance and WAI-ARIA
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing and TDD
  • Experience in creating performant and scalable state management patterns
  • Experience in mobile performance optimisation and monitoring
  • Expertise in debugging and testing React Native applications
  • Experience with agile, lean or extreme programming methodologies
