Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be accountable for carrying out a wide range of ground engineering elements, covering ground improvement, foundation design, and retaining structure design.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Production of Geotechnical design at tender stage to client requirements.
  2. Advising & working closely with structural engineers to achieve the most economical foundation solutions based upon site-specific ground conditions.
  3. Assessing site conditions, i.e., ground/gas contaminants, potential for heave, etc.
  4. Preparation of calculations, written reports, and checking of drawings.
  5. Advising of site investigation brief to meet our design requirements.
  6. Assisting with appointing and carrying out site investigation relevant to our proposals.
  7. Visits to site as required.
  8. Supporting Senior Engineers.
Person Specification:
  1. Prefer 18 months geotech design experience but will consider a raw grad with a passion for geotechnics.
  2. Degree or greater in Geotechnics or another related field.
  3. Happy to work within the fast-paced environment of subcontracting.
  4. Strong technical writing skills.
  5. Strong numerical modelling skills.
  6. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  7. Passion for customer service.
  8. Excellent inter-personal skills.
  9. Team player.
  10. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with an ability to prioritise.
  11. Strong IT skills, especially in Excel.
  12. Confident communicator.
  13. Dynamic.
  14. Self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
  15. Full driving licence (UK).
