Role Overview

The Vodafone Collaboration Domain holds solution and service ownership across more than 20 operating companies for the Vodafone Collaboration Service Portfolio. The Solution Architect for Collaboration Services has to ensure solutions delivered by 3rd parties can be seamlessly integrated, transitioned and operating within the Collaboration application landscape.

  • Ensure Vodafone Collaboration platforms architecture adheres to GA compliance guidelines and industry best practices focused on defining, implementing and continuously improving the platform architecture.


  • Responsible for the software lifecycle management of the key products integrated into the Vodafone Collaboration services by having a thorough understanding of the product's customers, potential customers, product requirements, product development, the broader industry and the impact of the products integration into the services and solutions.


  • Responsible to bridge between business demand, Vodafone enterprise architecture and service architectures in the collaboration space through design of flexible, adaptive, scalable, cost-effective, solution architectures.


What you'll do

Impact on Business

  • Responsible for solution architectures (systems, infrastructure, network, information, data, software) of the Collaboration projects.
  • Accountable for generating solution architecture design, proposals and concepts which fit with the Vodafone enterprise architecture that are cost-effective, scalable, flexible and simple.
  • Accountable to provide technical directions, advice and choices in the overall Collaboration architectural context.
  • Maintain the solution architectures in pace with the changing requirements, new business needs and technology evolution.
  • Responsible for technical demand management in the Collaboration domain. Ensure that the requirements are realisable, testable, implementable & operatable when implanted in a service.
  • Responsible to bridge the gap between developers, business analysts, project managers, and application managers in the Collaboration Domain projects.
  • Responsible to guarantee technical quality of design and developments by close collaboration with software vendors & developers.
  • Be involved in end-to-end project lifecycle from requirements through design, implementation and operations, continuously overseeing and ensuring the technical quality of the realisation of business requirements into solution features.
  • Responsible for the software lifecycle management of the key products integrated into the Vodafone Collaboration services by having a thorough understanding of the product's customers, potential customers, product requirements, product development, the broader industry and the impact of the products integration into the Services and Solutions.
  • Responsible to report overall progress of technology forecasts in the solution context, impact on existing architectures, recommendations on next steps.


Customer, supplier & third parties

  • Develop and maintain influential relationships with senior stakeholders and architecture functions and forums in Vodafone Group, Local Markets and the design/architecture teams in IT Services and Software suppliers/vendors and partners.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders from the business, project and operations teams, business analysts, integration design teams, development & architecture communities, vendors, PO & IT Services management.


Innovation and Change

  • Act as visionary and strategist for the collaboration technology space.
  • Anticipate on technological evolutions in the Collaboration space.
  • Continuously innovate by surveying the market landscape for the latest solution insights, direction, vendors, and best practices.


Leadership & Teamwork

  • Functionally oversee product managers, developers to lead in the right technological direction.
  • Closely collaborate with business analysts and product managers to provide direction to technical demand & requirement management.
  • Provide strong guidance in terms of architecture, design & development to software developers, product Managers and Application managers.
  • Challenge organizational boundaries in order to create a model which is efficient across design, development, deployment & operations.
  • Ensure architecture /design standards and methodologies are consistently applied in product development & integration design in the Collaboration domain.


Who you are

Knowledge and experience

  • 3+ years SharePoint, MS Azure and M365 Suite solution architecture experience in a large-scale IT Enterprise environment.
  • 4+ years hands-on SharePoint or MS Azure development OR infrastructure experience (optional).
  • Experience in all stages of SharePoint Project delivery using agile or waterfall delivery models.
  • Expert knowledge and experience of at least two areas of the SharePoint platform.
  • Good working knowledge of overall SharePoint platform architecture.
  • Broad and general technical knowledge, as well as deep competencies in areas like IT infrastructure, data models, service orientation; good understanding of enterprise architecture.
  • TOGAF / Enterprise architecture certifications.
  • Knowledge in programming, technology frameworks, standards and technical modelling.
  • Experience in multiple Hardware and Software Environments (for.eg- distributed, desktop, and mobile) and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, design, and attention to performance, scalability, reliability, availability at the system and component level.
  • Business analysis and business process understanding.
  • Must possess an in depth understanding of the capabilities of Collaboration technologies (e.g. SharePoint, M365 SaaS Suite, MS Azure, Multifarm / Crossfarm Environments), Database knowledge (e.g. SQL), Development knowledge (e.g. PowerShell Scripting, development Frameworks).
  • Knowledge of cognitive solutions (Bots, Copilot, and Copilot Studio).
  • Experience in Power Platform service design and solution architecture.
  • Understanding of the DevOps methodology and experience using Azure DevOps.


Communication

  • Communicate and share ideas verbally, both orally and in writing, to all levels of business -executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources (development, design, delivery) in clear concise language that is suited to each audience.
  • Contribute to a stakeholder management plan identifying all stakeholders, the nature of the relationship and the communication channels.
  • Attendance at all relevant team and project meetings.
  • Presentations to the Collaboration Programmes, architecture communities, and management layers on all relevant subject matter areas.
