The job itself

Companion/Carer Support required for sociable, gentle, disabled male who lives in independent living accommodation.

He needs support to enable him to remain independent and maintain his health. He cannot read or write and with epilepsy cannot use the kitchen. His physical care needs are met by the accommodation provider and he has a weekly cleaner.

Duties to include companionship and emotional support, over-seeing medication supplies and re-ordering of drugs, light meal preparation, support with meal planning and shopping needs and limited occasional, light cleaning.

It is hoped he will be encouraged to visit the gym and have trips out on occasions. He enjoys shopping.

Wheelchair is required when he is out of the building (he does have mobility).

Full driving licence required. 12 hours flexible to be discussed.Caring experience or experience of dealing with people in some capacity. Compassion, patience and understanding are the key requirements.
