Join Our Team as a Skilled Mechanical Fitter at NOV Monopumps in Greater Manchester
Are you ready for a rewarding new role? We are expanding our team and seeking Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join NOV Monopumps, specializing in Industrial Pumps & Mixers. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in assembling and testing NOV products. Emphasizing both internal and external customer service, your technical expertise will ensure efficient workspace management and product excellence.
As a Skilled Mechanical Fitter, you will take ownership of your productivity, employing diverse manufacturing processes and disciplines. This role offers opportunities to tackle challenges, enhance your technical skills, and broaden your expertise through exciting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble Equipment: Assemble Pump & Mixer equipment in compliance with company procedures.
- Component Fitting: Fit components and modules as per engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with colleagues during the build and installation process to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Conduct Tests: Perform production tests following established procedures and accurately complete test reports.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all assembled components are fit for purpose and meet quality standards.
- Operate Tools Safely: Use machines, hand tools, and power tools safely to secure parts in place.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Operate equipment safely, ensuring products conform to quality specifications.
- Document Work: Record all work carried out for tracking and accountability purposes.
Shift Pattern:
- Rotating 2 shift pattern of 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm.
- Fixed 3rd shift of 10pm-6am.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Time-served apprenticeship in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, equivalent to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3.
- Experience with PC pumps and waste water product assemblies.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Seals.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Manual handling training / Slinging & Lifting training.
- Awareness of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Desirable:
- HNC / HND qualification or equivalent with a Mechanical Engineering focus.
- Extensive experience with PC pumps and waste water products, ideally within a service background.
- Basic Electrical experience.
- Motor Wiring certification.
