School Cleaner (2 positions available)

10 hours per week, Term time plus 5 staff training days and 38 hours during school holidays.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and committed person to join our busy cleaning team who are responsible for the cleaning of the school premises each day.

The successful candidate will:

Carry out the cleaning of the interior of the school to an agreed standard under the direction of the Site Manager/Caretaker. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and general hygiene of the school premises. Be flexible and committed to undertaking cleaning duties during the school holidays.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they meet the essential elements of the person specification and will be subject to pre-employment checks including satisfactory references, an Enhanced DBS and Child Barred List check, a Health Check, Right to Work in the UK check and, where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed, in line with the Government’s safer recruitment guidelines.

An online check will also be conducted on all shortlisted applicants. This check will form part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
