We work in partnership with our parents and carers, our associated primary schools, members of the local community, other partners in learning and most importantly, our young people.

Working 12.5 hours per week 38 weeks per year on a permanent basis, you will undertake a broad range of duties supporting pupils and teachers in accessing library resources including the Internet.

The preferred working pattern would be as follows:

Week 1 – Wednesday and Thursday

Week 2 – Monday and Tuesday

However we may be open to discussing other possible working patterns with a suitable candidate.

You must have good literacy, numeracy, computer and communication skills as well as the ability to relate to a range of staff and young people. You must have a pleasant manner and have a flexible attitude.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . From 28 February , preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
