Ellen Tinkham School is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), to work in our vibrant and innovative special school. A sound knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs is essential, as well as experience in managing challenging behaviour. You will deliver whole class cover, in the absence of the teacher, across all ages (3 to 19), differentiating the curriculum for students with SEND.
You will:
Develop positive relationships with pupils. Ensure that our school ethos is embedded through everything they do. Work collaboratively with teachers, assisting in the planning cycle. Plan motivating and engaging sequences of personalised learning.
You will be required to commence as soon as possible. The hours will be Monday - Friday (7 hours per day) term time only (1,365 hours per annum).
Ellen Tinkham School is a special school catering for pupils with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
