**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Assistant Head Sommelier plays a pivotal role in the Front of House (FOH) management team, supporting the Head Sommelier in delivering an excellent wine service and maintaining an extensive wine list, along with stock and cellar management. The Assistant Head Sommelier will exhibit a positive managerial presence during restaurant service times, and have a genuine, caring connection with the wine and restaurant team to deliver refined and creative experiences for all our guests.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the Head Sommelier in daily operations and wine service- Maintain an extensive wine list and manage stock and cellar- Deliver exceptional guest experiences with a focus on refined service- Train and mentor junior sommeliers and waitstaff- Collaborate with the kitchen and FOH teams to create harmonious pairings and enhance the dining experience
**ABOUT YOU**
- A qualification in wine tasting is required (WSET, the Court of Master Sommeliers, Institute of Masters of Wine or similar)- At least 2 years of experience in a Senior sommelier role, preferably within a 5-star hotel or a rosette restaurant- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts- A strong desire to learn and develop a career within luxury hospitality- Good level of written and spoken English- Empathy and care for your guests and colleagues- Ability to work under pressure- Resilience to work in a fast-paced environment- Pride and attention to detail in your work- Confidence & professionalism when interacting with high-profile guests
