District SENCo Specialist Teaching Post (Rushcliffe)

Cognition and Learning Team Key Stages 2-5

Permanent Full Time.  

Teachers Pay Scale plus TLR 2(a) plus I SEN point

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced teacher to our supportive, hardworking and successful Cognition and Learning Team. The team is part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s Schools and Families Specialist Services. The vacancy is for the District SENCo for Rushcliffe within our team. 

As a District SENCo, you would be involved in providing support to Nottinghamshire’s Family of school structure through Family SENCos and SENCos and in collaborating with other agencies, in order to strengthen provision for pupils with SEND in their localities and progress the locality working model across Nottinghamshire. 

As a specialist teacher, you will also useyour knowledge, skills and experience to develop and deliver effective strategies/interventions aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people with a wide variety of complex cognition difficulties in Key Stages 2-5. You willwork at a variety of levels, using positive and inclusive approaches to provide support and advice to school staff, liaising with parents and engaging in direct teaching, where appropriate. Support from dedicated specialist teaching assistants ensures that a flexibility of approaches can be offered. 

We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the National Curriculum, appropriate interventions and the barriers young people with complex cognition needs can face and who has experience of the Family Structure in Nottinghamshire and working strategically to support others.

We welcome applications from highly motivated, creative practitioners, who enjoy working in a collaborative, solution- focussed way. You will part of a very supportive team, working across the County as required. Your base will depend upon the needs of the team, but initially is likely be the Home Brewery Building in Arnold. The post carries an authorised car user allowance.
