Location: Poynton

Remuneration: £11.84ph - £13.53ph, this also increases after 6 months and again after 12 months

Hours: This role is nights Sunday to Thursday 22:00 - 06:00

Your training will be on a rotating shift basis doing 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm (once you are trained up you will go onto the night shift)

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a dynamic team to execute warehouse operations efficiently and effectively.
  • Safely operate 5-tonne overhead gantry cranes, utilising radio remote and pendant control. Always consider your hand and body positioning, applying a task-based personal risk assessment.
  • Accurately cut lengths of steel to precise measurements using fully or semi-automated Band Saws/Cold saws.
  • Adhere to necessary Fire, Health & Safety Regulations and complete all required training.
  • Follow instructions from the Foreman to ensure work schedules are met and maintain production output.
  • Store processed material in designated Warehouse Bay(s) while ensuring safety and accessibility in line with company practises.
  • Conduct stock checks as required.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as instructed for your assigned role (e.g., sawyer role - hard hat, safety glasses/visor, ear defenders, hi viz, overalls, and safety boots).
  • Promptly report any plant defects to the Supervisor/Senior Supervisor/Works Manager.

You will also use Band Saws/Cold saws to accurately cut steel to precise measurements. Safety is a top priority, and you will be trained to follow Fire, Health & Safety Regulations to mitigate risks.
