We are looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to join our Building Operating Unit, to provide high quality advice, guidance and coaching to senior management within the project in order to achieve the goal of zero accidents.

We build and upgrade buildings across the country, for both private and public-sector customers. As a main contractor we deliver complex construction projects across a broad range of sectors including high quality offices in Commercial and Mixed-used developments, Healthcare, Custodial, Defence, and Education.

You will be joining a team of experts in building commercial developments, particularly in the City of London and the surrounding areas. We've built icons such as the Gherkin and Heron Tower. We completed the 10-storey Monument Building two weeks early.

Another focus for our Building team is being recognised as industry leaders in green and we have a team of renowned experts. Sustainable developments, such as Moorgate Exchange in London, 66 Queen Square in Bristol and City of London Building of the Year 2016 One and Two New Ludgate, meet the BREEAM Excellent environmental standard through the use of green solutions.

This is a key role in establishing and maintaining the highest Health and Safety standards for the Project and assist in the development of an Injury-Free Environment.

You'll:
  • Advise, guide and coach all personnel with the implementation of the Company Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
  • Assist the Project teams with the production, review and implementation of the Construction Phase Plan / Project Execution Plan
  • Liaise with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, client, enforcement agencies and other relevant parties
  • Communicate effectively (Accurate, Relevant and Timely) with their line manager, particularly with the escalation of accidents and incidents
  • Ensure that accidents and incidents are investigated and the findings communicated in accordance with Business Unit timescales
  • Co-ordinate the auditing of the projects under their responsibility
  • Be responsible for the auditing of trade contractors, designers, suppliers and coordination with the Procurement Team

We're looking for:
  • Previous experience working in a similar role with a principal contractor on projects within the built environment
  • Working towards chartered membership of IOSH - CMIOSH
  • NEBOSH diploma or MSc / PGD in Occupational Health & Safety Management
  • NVQ level 4 or above in Occupational Health & Safety
