Lancashire, United Kingdom Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council Full time

Terms and Conditions: Full Time, 37 hours per week, permanent.

Department: Adults

These are exciting times for Safeguarding Adults in Blackburn with Darwen. We have a new Safeguarding Adults Board in place, committed to achieving the very best outcomes for vulnerable adults in our Borough. We’re working to develop our local structures and processes, with a small, specialist Safeguarding team working alongside our Adult Social Care teams to ensure that the principles of Safeguarding are embedded in all our work.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Social Worker to manage our dedicated Safeguarding Adult Team. You will be passionate, hard-working and dedicated to empowering vulnerable adults. We pride ourselves on the support offered to new starters within the Department, and supporting their ongoing employment and development needs. Above all, we’re looking for someone with the value base and transferrable skills to be an excellent Team Manager.

You will line manage a small team of dedicated Social Work Practitioners, utilising the support of the dedicated Advanced Practitioner for Safeguarding Adults and a dedicated Advanced Practitioner for the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding Officers.

You will be highly motivated and focused, having considerable attention to detail. As a Team Manager, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced service, working at times with high levels of risk and vulnerability. You will, however, be fully supported by the Service Lead for Safeguarding Adults and the wider Senior Leadership Team.

We take staff development seriously and want to see all our teams thrive. With all our Social Work roles, we offer:

. A competitive salary

. Inclusion in the Local Government Pension Scheme

. The opportunity to pay into an Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) scheme alongside the workplace pension.

. Generous annual leave entitlement as well as the opportunity to purchase additional leave throughout the year.

. Registering body membership fees reimbursed (if registration is an essential requirement of your role).

. Strong links with neighbouring Higher Education Institutions as part of the Greater Lancashire Teaching Partnership.

. Enrolment and support through the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for newly qualified Social Workers.

. A well-established staff Health and Wellbeing programme

Along with completing the application form, please you must outline how you meet the role profile and key requirements.

Please note that the listing may be closed before the closing date should sufficient applicants have been received.
