IT Senior Business Analyst

The Business Analyst will work with and influence senior stakeholders across the University on the scoping, composition and analysis of the portfolio programmes and projects, benefits tracking, options analyses as well as providing relevant portfolio data.

This information will support good governance, effective capital allocation and comprehensive risk management (across financial, operational, and reputational parameters). The aim is to deliver solutions through tangible programmes and projects, offer assurance and benefits realisation across time, cost and quality factors.

Your role will be central to driving impactful change through the scoping, analysis, and optimisation of IT portfolio programmes and projects. You'll spearhead benefits tracking initiatives, conduct thorough options analyses, and provide crucial insights into portfolio data, all aimed at bolstering governance frameworks and ensuring effective resource allocation. Your expertise will be pivotal in managing risks across financial, operational, and reputational fronts, safeguarding the University's digital infrastructure.

As an expert IT business analyst, you'll navigate complex business challenges with finesse, guiding stakeholders through every phase of project development and delivery. Your ability to articulate requirements into actionable insights will be paramount, as you collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and cross-functional teams.

In addition to your strategic acumen, you'll take the lead in managing third-party engagements and supplier relationships, ensuring seamless integration of external resources into our IT ecosystem.

Furthermore, you'll serve as a beacon of best practices, providing training and guidance to business owners on leveraging existing applications and embracing emerging technologies.

About you

You will have proven and significant experience in:

- Working on IT projects, including working in teams and on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Leading customers to define their business needs and requirements, documenting, obtaining approval from the customer on the mandate and converting user requirements into functional project deliverables
- Delivery of successful functional business process analysis and efficiency identification using tools to draw and documenting business process maps
- Creating and maintaining technical and non-technical documentation in relation to user requirement gathering and IT development projects
- Managing supplier relationships as part of an IT project
