Dean Park Primary is a thriving non-denominational primary school which serves the village of Balerno, in the South West of Edinburgh. The main school is currently organised into 19 classes of P1-P7, and our nursery offers full-time spaces for up to 88 children.

At Dean Park, we pride ourselves on our nurturing, positive and inclusive ethos, and our team of dedicated staff strive to ensure equality of education, equity for our families and the opportunity for every child to flourish.

Dean Park Nursery is ideally situated to take advantage of the natural resources for outdoor learning offered by our grounds, the Pentlands National Park, Malleny Wood and the Water of Leith. We enjoy excellent links with the other educational providers in our community and work closely with each setting.

We are looking for an Early Years Assistant to join our excellent team of SEYOs, EYOs, Early Years Practitioners and Early Year Assistants. We are seeking candidates who are kind, caring and enthusiastic, with a passion for working with our 3–5-year-old learners. The successful applicant will be required to register with the SSSC.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act . The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
