At Hillarys, we are proud to be part of the Hunter Douglas Group, a leading global manufacturer of window coverings. We specialize in delivering innovative home solutions and premium service. As a growing and dynamic company, our internal design team plays a critical role in shaping the digital presence of multiple brands across the Hunter Douglas portfolio. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days working from our offices in Nottingham and 2 days working from home.

We are seeking a talented and forward-thinking Digital Design Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on digital innovation, is passionate about user experience, and has a flair for striking the perfect balance between technical precision and creative impact.

As our Digital Design Specialist, you will be at the forefront of driving digital design innovation within our in-house team. Reporting to the Creative Design Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and developing digital design briefs from various marketing channels including emails, social media, digital display assets, and web assets across multiple brands. Your work will have a significant impact on how we represent our brands in the digital space.

As our Digital Design Specialist, here's what you'll be doing:
  • Lead the development and execution of digital design projects from brief to delivery, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with internal marketing teams, particularly those who own specific channels like email, social media, and website assets, to create compelling digital designs.
  • Partner with external website agencies to ensure web assets meet both technical and user experience (UX) standards while remaining visually engaging.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in digital design, technology, and UX to continuously elevate our digital creative outputs.
  • Bridge the gap between creative vision and technical feasibility, ensuring designs are both captivating and optimized for performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our digital design processes and standards, bringing fresh ideas to the table.

Interested? Here's what we're looking for:
  • Proven experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in digital graphics for mass communication.
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
  • Background in agency work, with experience managing design for multiple brands/accounts, is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and experience with CSS pre-processors like SASS/SCSS.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to problem-solve complex digital design challenges.
  • Solid understanding of web accessibility, responsive design, and UX best practices.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, capable of working cross- functionally with creative, marketing, and technical teams
