Complex Care Practitioner

Are you looking for a new job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? If you are keen for a fresh challenge then we want to hear from you
We're on the lookout for caring, reliable and motivated colleagues to join us in Dumbarton as a Complex Care Practitioner on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. We also have relief contracts too if you are looking for something a bit more flexible.
The Role
Based in our Baxter View service, you'll become part of a team who provides support for individuals with complex support needs to live in their own flats. This is a varied role, so if you're looking for a job where no two days are the same, this could be right up your street
In addition to working directly with individuals with complex care needs, you'll also work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary team and the individual's families and guardians to ensure each individual has a robust and outcome focused support plan.
You'll support individuals to manage their own homes, increase and maintain their independence and encourage and support them with their social, health and wellbeing needs. You'll support the individuals with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, support to activities and appointments, managing personal finances, assisting with medication and personal care.
The people we support all have different hobbies and interests too, so we’ll need you to bring creativity and enthusiasm into supporting them to access leisure activities, engage in meaningful activities and take part in hobbies and interests that are important to them, both within their home and out in their local communities.
About You
Due to the complex care needs within our service, we're looking for people who bring experience of providing care and support within the Health & Social Care sector with the ability to lone work and have confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge.
We will also need you to bring a commitment to studying for and achieving an SVQ (SCQF level 7) and completing training and further qualifications which are identified as essential for our service. We will fund and support you with any training and qualifications you'll need and we will even reimburse your yearly SSSC registration fees
To be a great Complex Care Practitioner, you'll need: -
Previous experience of providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities and/or of working in a forensic service A solid understanding of professional boundaries, accountabilities and responsibilities A passion for delivering excellent person-led care and support Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening and written) Numeracy skills to ensure accurate records are kept The ability and confidence to deal with behaviours that can challenge A caring and professional attitude and approach A positive approach to learning Confidence in the use of computersIt would be great if you also have:-
A full, clean driving license as some of the people we support have their own mobility cars and enjoy going out for drives (but this isn't a deal breaker for the right candidates).Shift Patterns
Typically, shift patterns will fall between the hours of - hours, but can vary on occasion if the individuals we support have events planned that they'd like to attend. Weekends, public holidays and waking nights will also form part of your rota on a rotational basis. However, we appreciate the importance of a work life balance and offer flexibility where we can.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
Please note - If if you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible so reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.
Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
