Required from September 2024

The Kimberley School is an enjoyable, exciting place to work. Our aim is for every child to achieve or surpass their academic and social potential and we achieve this through providing a high quality of education, underpinned by a strong programme of care, guidance, support and enrichment.

This is an opportunity to join our outstanding, high performing, PE department. The department enjoys superb facilities and has a track record of securing outstanding outcomes for students, as well as promoting student engagement with a vast range of exciting opportunities outside of the classroom that help prepare them for a successful, healthy, adult life.

The successful candidate will be able to teach PE in Key Stage 3 and 4. The ability to teach Health & Social Care would also be advantageous, and there may be opportunities for candidates with suitable experience to teach both subjects at Key Stage 5. We are particularly keen to appoint a new member of the team to help lead on the development of netball within the curriculum and as an extra-curricular offer. The position is suitable for experienced or newly qualified teachers. As a lead partner in the East Midlands Teacher Training Partnership, and an early adopter of the Early Career Framework, we are well placed to support teachers at the start of their career.

If you have a passion for teaching PE, then we want to hear from you. You will join an outstanding team who have already driven significant improvements in curriculum provision and student recruitment. The team enjoy a range of specialist teaching and learning facilities and is well placed to continue generating successful outcomes for all students taking GCSE PE, and on vocational courses at Key Stage 4 & 5. This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a role in helping them to achieve this.

As part of East Midlands Education Trust there will also be the opportunity for you to learn from the very best and prepare you for the next stage of your career. You will receive a full induction programme and excellent preparation for the next stage of your career. You will have access to a substantial well-being package and The Kimberley School is absolutely committed to ensuring that all staff have access to a comprehensive programme of professional development and that they enjoy a good home/work balance. We take the workload challenge seriously.

To apply, please visit the Trust website at and complete the online application form. On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position. In your answer, please ensure to set out the following:
• how your experience and qualifications have prepared you for this position; and
• the steps you will take to ensure that the students you teach enjoy learning and make good progress;
• the nature of the contract you are looking for (i.e. part time or maternity)

Closing date: 9am, 29th April 2024.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
