From September 2024 we seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at Grange Primary School.

We are looking for someone who:

is energetic, creative and passionate about learning and development. is an excellent practitioner who has high expectations and aspirations for all children. has previous experience, skills and the relevant qualifications to effectively support SEND children in their early stages of learning and development is able to draw on a bank of prior skills and knowledge to effectively support children in their next steps in learning and development. Has a comprehensive knowledge of alternative forms of communication and experience of working with pre-verbal children. has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a great sense of humour. contributes to the overall aims and ethos of our school. 

This is a permanent position from September 2024. 

We welcome applications from teaching assistants who have had previous experience supporting children with SEND both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Applicants will be able to demonstrate their passion for SEND and be able to clearly articulate the impact and importance of both high-quality teaching and access to a bespoke curriculum for SEND children.

You would be expected to lead interventions both 1:1 and in small group situations, in all areas of the curriculum, as well as contribute to the planning process. You would be mainly supporting autistic children who have differences with communication and interaction and therefore it is essential you have experience and/or knowledge of supporting the early development of language. On occasion, you may also be required to participate in meetings that concern the educational provision for the children you support.
