Morson Technical Services are currently seeking a Structures Inspector to join our current Forward Support Team at RNAS Yeovilton on a permanent basis.

JOB PURPOSE/ACTIVITIES -

Management of Structural repair and manpower To hold authorisations to the minimum level required by WMS, this is to include third signature within own trade group as detailed in OP 1103 and IAW individual Record of Engineering Authorisations (REA). Maintain technical currency and authorisation through the training program and reading disseminated information. To be the SME on aircraft structural repairs, providing guidance where necessary. Carry out aircraft structural repairs, IAW published procedures and Instructions. To provide technical guidance on repair instructions. Completing GOLDesp procedures IAW Wildcat Maintenance Support WMS OP 408, 100A-0409-01 series of publications. To carry out damage surveys as directed. Carry out overall management and control of support activities within his area of responsibility including bay husbandry. Ensures tasking unit has all spares and tooling requirements prior to tasking. Observing authorised tool control procedures (WMS OP 502) when carrying out Aircraft structural repairs and associated tasks. Be responsible for the general welfare and safety of all personnel during his/her duty time on tasking. Be responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety and Environment requirements are complied with. Operation and maintenance of AGE and Hangar facilities as directed. Ensure that GOLDesp procedures are completed for all aircraft work IAW WMS OP 408, the 100A-0409-01 series of publications & MAM-P. Sign and co-ordinate all aircraft documentation up to individual authorisations held within REA. Any other aircraft or aircraft support related tasks as directed by the appropriate Manager.

IDEAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must have served an aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or Service equivalent Trade Training. To have served or operated as a Lead Repair engineer within a repair organisation. To have included composite repair activity. Meet the minimum criteria as specified in WMS OP 1103. A full understanding of all aspects of Military aircraft engineering and documentation. A full understanding of Military aircraft operation in base and field locations. Current and competent in the use of GOLDesp.
