Spring Lane School is a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education to the most disadvantaged pupils. We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join our team in September 2024 on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our students and helping them succeed in their next phase of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils. Adapt the English curriculum to meet the needs of a diverse range of students within Spring Lane School's curriculum pathways. Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students' emotional and academic development. Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure students' educational and personal needs are met. Act as a form tutor for pupils, advocating in all aspects of school - engagement, behaviour, attendance, SEN and safeguarding Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.

Key Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Degree in English or a related field. Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and tailor teaching methods to suit individual student needs. A commitment to inclusion and a passion for helping disadvantaged pupils succeed.
