The Firm's Tax Department is responsible for providing tax compliance services to the firm, its partners and employees, including corporate tax, personal tax, international tax for our inbound and outbound project workers and assignees, benefits reporting, and VAT compliance.

Connect to your opportunity The role available is a mixed tax role across the Firm's Tax Department. In terms of Business tax, this role would include preparation of the firm's business tax returns, including the main partnership tax computation, and corporate tax returns for subsidiary companies and foreign branches of the Deloitte LLP group, as well as other aspects of business tax compliance including the calculation and payments of payments on account and CbyC reporting. In terms of VAT, the role would include giving advice to the business on general VAT matters, as well as inputting into the quarterly VAT returns.

In terms of Personal Tax, this role would include the preparation of personal tax returns of both partners in the firm, as well as assignees and employees who work cross border on international projects.

The role would also include providing assistance to the preparation of Forms PP1d and the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement.

We are looking for an experienced tax assistant to work in our Business Taxes team. A core part of the role will be as follows;

  • Preparation of the partnership tax computation using Onesource.
  • Preparation of the corporation tax accounting disclosures, computations and returns using Onesource.
  • Prepare branch tax returns for overseas offices.
  • Preparation of personal tax returns
  • Prepare tax payments
  • Assist in the ongoing development of tax analysis tools
  • Assist ad-hoc projects such as withholding tax and capital allowances
  • Prepare written communication with HM Revenue & Customs
  • Ensure deadlines are met on all deliverables and that suitable controls are in place
  • Review of follow up queries and correspondence with internal and external parties.
  • Liaising with the finance team to enable collection and analysis of data.

Finance and Legal

We provide financial management and accounting support that is aligned to each area of Deloitte's business as well as the leadership team. We prepare the statutory and regulatory reporting required for Deloitte LLP and several other areas, whilst our General Counsel provides legal advice to the Board, the Executive and the Managing Partners.

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
