At Companies House, we have a well-established User-Centred Design team within our Digital and Technology directorate, which includes a team of interaction designers, service designers, content designers, user researchers and performance analysts. Job description

As a Senior Interaction Designer, you�ll:�

be an expert practitioner who uses agile methodologies, can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and use an iterative method and flexible approach to designing digital services that meet user needs�be an expert at designing concepts, and building advanced prototypes using the  Prototype Kit,as well as apps such as Figma and Mural�be a confident and competent designer who can develop designs for user-centred, accessible services, based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes�be able to communicate complex user needs and tell the story of how the digital design meets these needs�communicate complex design decisions with technical, delivery and product teams, and influence the end-to-end design of a digital service�work on multiple concurrent services at different stages of delivery�play an important role in ensuring that our services meet the Service Standard and present evidence at service assessments�contribute to and use the  Design System�be trusted to make good decisions and recognise when to ask for further guidance and support�build relationships across Companies House and cross-government digital delivery communities, to focus on the needs of our users and to influence stakeholders�

We�re looking for a Senior Interaction Designer who:�

listens to the needs of the technical and business stakeholders��manages stakeholders� expectations and is flexible - being capable of proactive and reactive communication�makes decisions to meet user needs�absorbs large amounts of information and uses it to produce designs�understands and works within the given constraints (including, but not limited to, technology, policy, regulatory, financial, and legal constraints), and challenges constraints that can be changed�shares best practice and can coach others�is aware of the importance of ensuring services are accessible to all�

Front-end development experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Line management experience would also be advantageous but is not essential.�

Alongside your salary of �33,134, Companies House contributes �9,598 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

Please note that the minimum salary does not reflect the 2023/24 pay deal and we are therefore expecting this to increase in the near future.
