Essential qualifications:

Fully trained jobholders must hold a minimum SVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work, or equivalent subject, and have experience supporting children and young people in an educational setting.

Youth Worker (B) Experienced jobholders who have not yet attained the SVQ3 level qualification in Youth Work or equivalent but are currently studying towards it will be paid at SCP 35.

Full clean UK driving licence.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (times TBC)

Weeks per year: 39

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 30 hours over 39 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £20,.31 per annum. 

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, . Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
