That means each year 17,500 miss out on a place which their talent warrants, and all the opportunities a top education brings. The Access Project makes a lasting impact on the lives of young people by breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
The Access Project believes that every young person should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and make the most of their education. We’re passionate about reducing the educational barriers our students face, helping them follow their dreams. Our students perform better than their peers academically and are twice as likely to get into a top university as comparable students who have not had our support.
After 15 years, there is much to be proud of. We have established ourselves as a high-quality highly impactful organisation, which consistently delivers benchmark-beating outcomes for our young people. We are recognised by the university regulator, the Office for Students, and schools and universities alike for our highly impactful work.
The Access Project has ambitions to increase our reach and impact by significantly increasing the number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds that we support. As a result, we are ensuring our organisation has the structures in place to enable this growth and ensure our sustainability.
The organisation is at a critical point in its trajectory as we embark on our 5-year strategy for growth (2024-2029), and we are looking for leaders who can take the organisation from working with 2,000 young people today to 5,000 in 5 years’ time, ensuring we are able to substantially increase our impact on the lives of young people.
The Chief Operating Officer will play a pivotal role within our dynamic leadership team. You will be accountable for the smooth, efficient and effective delivery of our operations, finance, and strategy and you will ensure that through all we do, we are achieving high impact in delivering our work.
You will be an inclusive and inspiring leader, acting as a role model to your team and the organisation and bring:
- Significant experience in managing financial functions, along with commercial acumen.
- Experience of delivering high impact outcomes, evidencing impact and holding teams to account for delivery of impact.
- A passion for driving strategy and developing organisations.
