About Our Client
Our client are a UK-based company specialising in the production of high-quality corrugated products. With a strong presence in the industry, they have built their reputation on delivering reliable and effective solutions for a wide range of applications.
Our client produce a diverse range of corrugated products designed for different uses, including standard carboard boxes, hinged cardboard boxes and trays, shelf ready cardboard packaging, cardboard fitments and dividers, bespoke cardboard packaging, cardboard trays, quick assembly crash lock boxes and a range of industry specific boxes. Their focus is on delivering products that are durable, functional, and of consistent quality.
The Role
As an Account Manager you will focus on implementing a sales strategy within a specific territory to achieve annual sales goals, focusing on maximising profitability through efficient planning and effective account management. Key duties include developing a sales plan, maintaining customer relationships, providing technical support, and reporting on market trends and opportunities, while occasionally assisting with debt collection and supporting marketing efforts.
Account Manager Responsibilities
• Establish a sales development plan for the territory, which exploits the full potential from both existing and prospective accounts to achieve sales objectives set out in agreed measures.
• Organise the most economical sales plan, which ensures maximum use of available selling time with minimum expense.
• Promote and project a first class company image by providing competent technical advice, handling of enquiries and orders and trouble shooting as required.
• Follow up quotations and report on the status of all major negotiations and future opportunities within the system laid down by management.
• Maintain constant awareness of market/customer needs and competitor activities. Summarise these, together with significant developments related to sales activity and intended future actions in a monthly report.
• Compile and maintain customer records which are complete and accurate.
• Be responsible for setting personal standards of discipline, integrity and work rate, which will command the respect of both colleagues and customers alike.
• Establish a good working relationship with all company personnel which will ensure a high level of employee morale is maintained.
• Assist with collection of debts when requested (occasional).
• Attend and participate fully at sales meetings (occasional).
• Support company marketing initiatives as directed (occasional).
Account Manager Requirements
• Thorough knowledge of paper grades, packaging styles and their practical applications - desirable.
• Sufficiency of commercial knowledge to understand and evaluate customers requirements.
• Interpersonal skills so as to develop rapport with customers and company staff alike and fully employ selling skills.
• Communication skills at a level which enables propositions to be made and reports proposed in a clear and concise manner.
• Planning ability to maximise use of time.
