Assistant Steward


Location: Elton Liberal Club Bury
Hours: Approximately 30 40 hours a week flexible and coordinated with the Clubs Bar Management Team to ensure presence during daytoday operations and events including evenings and weekends.

About Elton Liberal Club:
Elton Liberal Club has been active since 1898 and is a friendly social club based in the Elton area of Bury. The Club supports a wide range of activities including entertainment sport weddings and various functions and music gigs.

The Role:
Elton Liberal Club is seeking an experienced Assistant Steward to work closely with our existing Steward. The successful candidate will support and understand the clubs objectives and challenges working both individually and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing the Club for daily opening and closing
Responding to incoming telephone calls during working hours
Addressing matters raised by members or guests ensuring actions are recorded for review by the Manager
Maintaining staff rota including time sheets and holidays with the Steward
Ensuring sufficient and proficient staffing knowledgeable about the product range and pricing
Organising staffing of bars maintaining bars and cleaning lines from the cellar weekly
Reconciling till roll totals daily in liaison with the Steward and Manager
Assisting in stock deliveries checking and storing as required

Requirements:

Flexibility to meet the demands of Club activities and events
Excellent customer service credentials
Innovative with a positive cando attitude
Experience in managing and training staff
Experience in bar stock and cellar management
Local residency is an advantage due to key holder responsibilities and occasional cover for staff holidays

What ELC Offers:
This fulltime position includes evening weekend and Bank Holiday hours offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. A sixmonth probation period applies.

While the main duties and responsibilities are outlined the Assistant Steward will be expected to undertake any reasonable Committee request for work of a similar level not specified here and participate in relevant training.
