The Opportunity
Salary: £25,119 to £26,421 per annum (£15,275 to £16,066 per annum, pro rata)
Working Pattern: Part time, 22.5 hours per week (3 days a week)
Location: Contractual base is Chichester, with hybrid working options.
Interview date: w/c 02 September 2024
Want to kick-start your career? We are looking for a part time, permanent Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Control Team and help to ensure the smooth operation of our payroll service.
In this role you will work within a small specialist team and will need to possess excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Having an eye for detail and positive approach to resolving issues will be invaluable in this role.
Key duties include:
Providing specialist advice and support to colleagues on payroll matters. You will be responsible for following specific processes within a defined timescales to ensure the accurate pay day service relating to the County Councils payroll system. You will possess the ability to calculate payroll related information and support colleagues as and when required. You will be required to support on specialist queries from internal and external sources such customers and government bodies.
What are we looking for?
You will have sound experience in either pensions or payroll processing, and a strong awareness of the technical considerations and issues relevant to the service. You will be customer centred, and therefore able to articulate complex matters in ways that customers will understand and be able to act on. You will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to concentrate on important tasks in a busy and challenging environment. You will be able to communicate well with others and build strong relationships with team members, supporting others to understand the processes and procedures to be followed. Sound and accurate overall IT knowledge including Excel and be comfortable using and applying complex sets of data.For more information on the Key Skills as well as the Qualifications and/or experience required, please refer to the Job Description attached.
