Requirements

The Board of Directors has played a pivotal role in guiding the company through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Presently, we are focused on seizing emerging opportunities in the rapidly expanding fitness and wellness industry. We are seeking new board members capable of offering financial oversight and strategic direction to our Chief Executive and Executive Management Team. With your valuable support and guidance, we can effectively promote our facilities across Fife, encourage community engagement, and demonstrate the positive impact individuals can have on local communities.

Responsibilities

Lead the company direction and provide leadership. Contribute to and steer the strategic management and future development of the Trust. Ensure sound governance, accountability, and legislative compliance. Support the Trust in providing diverse participation opportunities in sport and active recreation. Ensure adherence to current legislation in managing the Trust's affairs. Lead on a specific area of responsibility linked to your expertise. Oversee necessary monitoring and reporting mechanisms. Ensure relevant, aspirational, and forward-looking programming and performance. Engage in committees, working groups, etc., as necessary. Assist in negotiations with funding bodies and potential sponsors. Act as a champion for the Trust and its work. Offer support and advice to the Chair of the Trust's Board. Serve as an ambassador for the Board in stakeholder interactions. Maintain strong relationships within the Board, sport and physical activity sector, and business community.

The Individual

If you have a solid business background or relevant professional expertise and experience, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. As a Board Member, you will oversee and control the Trust's activities, set its strategic direction and priorities, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Though voluntary, we will cover travel and reasonable expenses. You will be expected to participate in one of our committees, attend four Board meetings per year, and attend special meetings as necessary. Training will be provided.
