The Governors of Ripley St. John’s CE Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint a visionary and inspirational Deputy Headteacher who will bring leadership experience to our team, working in partnership with our Headteacher. We pride ourselves on being a warm and welcoming school, with a true Christian ethos, putting the children at the heart of our decision-making, striving to ensure we are ‘the best that we can be’.

We are a family-feel, two form-entry primary school located in Amber Valley, Derbyshire, with 365 pupils on roll.

This leadership role will include a class-share teaching commitment and days of leadership release time.

Our new Deputy Headteacher will:

be a crucial senior leader who is caring, approachable and willing to go the extra mile to improve educational outcomes for all children. be an individual who can effectively contribute to the senior leadership team, supporting the strategic direction and vision of the school. lead on innovative curriculum design and implementation, and will support middle leader subject leads to monitor and evaluate for impact. demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and inclusion as well as understanding, awareness and empathy for all. be dedicated to raise teaching and learning standards across the board and have high aspirations for yourself and the whole school community. be a motivator who can encourage both staff and children, fostering a positive and productive school environment. be a role model; demonstrating excellence and innovation in your own teaching practice. possess boundless energy and have the ability to inspire confidence when making management and organisational decisions.
