Job Title: Project Planner

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Position Type: Contract

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Planner to join our long standing client for an ongoing Nuclear project at Hinkley Point C. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction planning, proficiency in Primavera P6, and a background in working within the Nuclear sector. The Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Additional Details:

Rate: 45 per hour (PAYE) - No umbrella companies

Hours - 10 per day
Rotation: 10/4
Location: Hinkley Point C Power Station (Somerset).
Accommodation allowance of 1140 per month.
Mileage paid on first and last day of trip.
Paid Holiday - 25 days plus Bank Hols.
8% Pension (matched)


Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling:

- Develop comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Establish and maintain baseline schedules, ensuring all phases of the project are accurately represented.
- Integrate project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies into the schedule.

Construction Planning:

- Collaborate with construction teams to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Develop detailed construction schedules, including resource allocation and sequencing of activities.
- Monitor and update construction schedules to reflect actual progress and changes.

Nuclear Environment:

- Apply knowledge of nuclear industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and regulatory protocols during project planning and execution.
- Coordinate with nuclear safety officers and regulatory bodies as needed.

Risk Management:

- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Continuously monitor and assess risks, updating the project plan accordingly.
- Communication and Reporting:

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience using Primavera P6 for project scheduling.
- Experience working on site in a nuclear environment, with a strong understanding of nuclear safety and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent communication, organisational, and analytic skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent).

- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
