As a Barclays Senior Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building leading-edge data solutions. You'll bring wide experience of the data ecosystem and a deep understanding of data and technology. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for spearheading the architecture design across multiple CDS products, mentoring and developing other team members. With an energy and enthusiasm for delivering for our customers, you'll have an innate ability to balance innovation with pragmatism.

We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?
• Defining Data Architecture; establishing a comprehensive data architecture that meets stakeholders' needs and aligns with the organisation's technical and data strategy
• Creating and sustaining vital architecture documents, including Entity Relationship Models, Data Dictionary, component & interface diagrams, and Data Pipeline/Lineage Models
• Ensuring a structured and methodical architecture approach is followed using industry frameworks, methodologies, and best practices including TOGAF
• Providing stakeholders with sound rationale for architectural decisions and detailed solutions
• Promoting and embedding robust data security practices within any data strategy
• Defining and enforcing data modelling standards to ensure consistency across solutions and the enterprise
• Being responsible for analysing documentation and sample responses to evaluate APIs
• Reverse-engineering data models from existing systems and uplifting to a logical level
What we're looking for:
• Demonstrable experience of solution design on complex large-scale initiatives
• In-depth understanding of data hubs, operational data stores, data lake and data warehousing principles, best practises and design patterns
• Proficiency in data modelling for NoSQL databases, data warehouses and marts
• Capability to build and manage the evolution of data models, data dictionaries, ELT/ETL models
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of using tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Glue
• Experience migrating legacy on-prem systems to cloud architectures
• Ability to define multiple solution options to business problems and to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, producing a range of written materials (presentations, briefings, reports) and liaising with stakeholders globally and at all levels
