Labelling AI Lead

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lead for Labeling is the primary subject matter expert for labeling across all projects using AI Technologies. This critical strategic role ensures that ILG captures the benefits of AI as early as possible, driving transformational change across regions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The AI Lead gives final endorsement for implementation of AI solutions into the ILG business process and is responsible for preserving standards of labeling quality and compliance, while incorporating ethical AI principles in line with labeling regulations worldwide. The AI Lead is also a key advisor to the Head of International Labeling and provides strategic input into ILG’s vision and digital roadmap towards e-labeling and digital health.

The AI Lead possesses deep subject matter expertise around labeling, familiar with labeling regulation in all major regions and has a sound understanding of e-labeling development in advanced and developing markets. This breadth of knowledge covers all labeling types (Patient, Healthcare Professional), formats, and international data standards (IDMP, HL7 FHIR). The AI Lead is an expert in labeling content, cross-sectional relationships, and external interdependencies, equally adept at pinpointing deficiencies in AI outputs and approaches as well as identifying opportunities for use case extensions across GRS domains. The AI Lead also maintains an active involvement in the execution of  content management of LPDs, LLDs and PLDs for nationally registered products for assigned products across multiple countries/regions. This work is necessary to ensure continuing connection to the business and maintenance of SME knowledge as labeling regulation and process continues to evolve.

The AI Lead has experience in the development of AI tools, including Generative AI, knowing the potential applications and pitfalls of such tools in generating, reviewing, and formatting labeling according to international data standards and formats. The AI Lead is a pioneer in implementation of such tools into existing manual-based processes, comfortable with both the technical and regulatory implications of such solutions. The AI Lead works closely with ILG R&D Leads, Information Management and Digital Colleagues to execute proof-of-concepts and value explorations, leading to full solution developments.

The AI Lead is comfortable speaking at international regulatory conferences and other events, forming productive networks with labeling professionals inside the pharmaceutical industry as well as technology vendors operating in the labeling or adjacent fields. Through this network the AI Lead identifies emerging technologies of potential interest, working with Digital and Information Management to select the most promising options for exploration.
