Based in Warrington as an Apprentice Engineer, you will be an important part of depot operations and a key player in keeping the workshop productive meaning equipment is always available for our customers to ensure their experience with us is positive and we continue to be the best hire company in the industry.

You will take part in our structured four year training programme. During this time you will be trained by our knowledgeable and experienced colleagues along with attending block placements with our college provider.

Programme Overview:

Year 1/2: Completion of a Level 2 Land Based Service Engineer apprenticeship standard and associated End Point Assessment (EPA)

Year 3/4: Completion of Level 3 Land Based Service Engineer Technician apprenticeship standard and associated End Point Assessment (EPA)

When you are not in college completing your formal qualifications, you will be based in Warrington full time learning from our experienced engineers and practicing your skills ready to be signed off as a fully qualified engineer at the end of Year 4.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for apprentices who:

  • Are ambitious, driven and willing to learn and develop
  • Are comfortable attending block learning placements at other sites in the country and learning both on the job and in a classroom/practical learning environment
  • Are comfortable from being away from home for 1 week per month during term time
  • Have a natural interest in machinery, mechanics and electrics
  • Are comfortable working at height
  • Can be team players
  • Adapt to a fast paced working environment
  • Show good communication skills
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.

**Please note that you must hold a Level 1 equivalent or GCSE Grade 2/Grade E or above in English and Mathematics in order to be considered for this apprenticeship.**

If you are successful in obtaining this role, in order to complete the L3 qualification you will have to complete L2 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics. If you can provide evidence of GCSE Mathematics and English qualifications at Grade C/Grade 4 or above you will be exempt from needing to complete these qualifications. If you do need to complete them, our college provider will work with you in order to achieve this.
