London, Greater London, United Kingdom UCL Full time

About us

The UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) is at the heart of UCL's Grand Challenge of Global Health.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Research Assistant and Project Co-ordinator to join our interdisciplinary team, working on the National Surveys of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (Natsal). Natsal are large bio-behavioural surveys, representative of the British population.

Natsal's repeated cross-sectional design enables a contemporary picture to be presented, while its longitudinal nature captures generational changes and broad societal shifts through the measurement of both period and birth cohort effects. Natsal provides evidence of the context, influences, and consequences of sexual lifestyles.

About the role

The post holder will have a pivotal role within the Natsal team, helping to manage and support all aspects of Natsal, and assisting the PIs to ensure all components of Natsal-4 are delivered within the project timescales. The post holder will work with colleagues from the wider Natsal team across all institutions to support the smooth running and delivery of Natsal-4, contribute to presentations and other outputs, and be responsible for external communications including the study website and Twitter account.

This role is available from 1st October 2024, for 12 months in the first instance.

This post is available full-time (i.e. 36.5 hours per week) but Part-time applications (for a minimum of 26 hours per week) are also considered. Please specify your preference in your application.

The post holder will be expected to be on-site for at least 2 days of the week, based at the Mortimer Market Centre on the Bloomsbury Campus.

Salary range: £37,332 to £39,980 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience. A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.

Ideal candidates will be proactive with excellent project management skills, experience in public health and working in multi-disciplinary teams, and experience in conducting literature reviews, and preparing reports and presentations.

Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to solve problems to manage their workload and work to planned deadlines.
