Due to our rapidly growing team, we are looking for a qualified Room Leader nursery practitioner.

Qualification:
The candidate must have NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education or equivalent.

Applicants must have:
A firm and broad understanding of the EYFS Statutory requirements and how to implement these.
Must be passionate, enthusiastic, fun and possess a high standard of childcare and education.
Be able to promote the aims and objectives of the nursery.
Have day-to-day responsibility for managing and supervising your designated room within the nursery.

Be able to act as a keyworker for a group of children and organise the keyworker system within the team.

Be able to effectively supervise staff on a daily basis, monitoring their performance to ensure good practice at all times.

Having key holder responsibility for opening and closing up the nursery.
Participate in positively promoting a team approach within the nursery, supporting children, colleagues and other professionals through a positive influence, based on a shared perception of the vision for the service to children and the wider community

Be able to liaise closely with management and other professionals as necessary and ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are implemented, to provide reports as required.

Participate with the management team in securing agreement in the roles, responsibilities and systems for Nursery Policy-making and communication.

be responsible for implementing systems of observation and record keeping so that children's attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed, and to monitor the effectiveness of the assessment procedure.

Be able to ensure that the room operates effectively referring issues to the nursery management team where appropriate.
To ensure the safe environment for children, staff and others.

Ensuring that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills are regularly practiced.

To maintain an effective parent liaison system in order to work in partnership with parents/carers.
To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to both parent's staff and visitors.
To be flexible within working practices of the nursery, and be prepared to help where needed.

Be able to monitor and implement children's development, including providing a safe, caring environment to enable a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children attending the setting.

Applicants must possess good communication skills, be approachable, confident, and caring and have a passion for working with nursery children and their parents.

We ask that applicants have a can-do attitude and be adaptable to the needs of the nursery.
Possess an excellent understanding of safeguarding / knowledge of child protection procedures.
Be an excellent team player.
Organise and supervise play and work activities and to oversee activities which cover all areas of children's development.
To act as a keyworker for a group of children
Liaise with parents/carers and professionals.

You will need to demonstrate good practice and be a good role model to children and staff within the nursery delivering the correct requirements and standards.
