Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial/Civil Litigator to join our team as the Head of Contentious Private Client, specializing in Contentious Probate. As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for managing and leading a small team of talented lawyers, overseeing all aspects of contentious probate cases, and driving the growth of this practice area.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of lawyers, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure the highest level of performance.
  • Take ownership of contentious probate cases, from initial client consultation to resolution, ensuring a comprehensive and effective strategy is implemented.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide expert advice and representation in court proceedings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering exceptional client service and managing client expectations.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm to identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the firm's services.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, regulations, and industry trends related to contentious probate.

Requirements:

Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in Commercial/Civil Litigation.

Proven expertise and specialization in Contentious Probate, with a strong track record of successfully handling complex cases.

Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a law firm or department, demonstrating excellent people management skills.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

A proactive and innovative mindset, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional legal services.
