Become a Lead Practitioner - English at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie and lead the charge in advancing standards and enriching teaching and learning across our academy. As a pivotal member of our leadership team, you'll play a key role in translating our academy's vision into outstanding classroom practices, cultivating a culture of excellence throughout.

Your primary responsibilities will revolve around devising and implementing strategies for teaching and learning, curriculum design, professional development, and fostering collaborative teamwork. With a focus on English, you'll spearhead initiatives to enhance teaching and learning within the subject, developing tailored systems and procedures to elevate outcomes.

In addition to delivering exemplary lessons, mentoring colleagues, and leveraging data analysis to drive continuous improvement, you'll champion positive student engagement by establishing high expectations and creating an inspiring learning environment. Our ideal candidate will possess:

A degree in English or a related fieldQualified Teacher StatusDemonstrated success as a classroom practitioner in co-educational comprehensive schoolsEvidence of dedication to extracurricular and enrichment activitiesThorough understanding of the national curriculum in EnglishProven track record of implementing successful strategies to improve achievement and share best practicesAbility to facilitate students in working to the highest standardsStrong administrative abilitiesSuccessful experience in collaborative teamworkDemonstrated leadership skills and experienceConsistent punctualityCommitment to Equal OpportunitiesAmbition for further career advancement The basis of this role is full-time, permanent and offers a salary of leadership scale based on experience. Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 20,000 students and employing 3,000 talented staff.
