SABIC UK Petrochemicals Limited has its headquarters based within the Wilton Centre, but has manufacturing and storage facilities located over two nearby sites, at Wilton International and North Tees. The Wilton International site hosts our two main manufacturing plants: Olefins 6, a large ethylene 'cracker', and System 18, one of the world's largest Low-Density Polyethylene plants. We manufacture chemicals and products such as ethylene and LDPE, the building blocks for the many everyday materials and plastics that we have come to rely on in our modern world. Many of our logistical facilities are located at our North Tees site, which includes numerous storage tanks, underground salt cavities, liquefaction plants and jetties. SABIC currently employs over 330 FTE manufacturing employees as well as over 400 contractors, creating £400m for the local economy through payroll, goods, services and utilities

The Logistics Planner, Operations, LDPE System 18 and Wilton Logistics purpose is to service the detailed local plant production schedule in-line with the requirements of the European Polymer Business, by undertaking the planning and execution of feedstock, product movements from the Wilton LDPE System 18 plant.

Engagement and delivery through others of internal and external stakeholders to deliver the businesses operating plan, in full accordance with SABIC's EHSS standards and a significant degree of data collection and reconciliation in order to fully account for key plant performance indicators.

DELIVERABLES

  • Implement the detailed Production and Silo Plan for System 18 LDPE production facility
    • Ensure the availability of adequate storage capacity to receive product from the plant and that sufficient stock of all grades is available in the right configuration to guarantee customer deliveries.
    • Delivery of the Silo Plan with the detailed planning and scheduling process, and provides the communication link between UK Production Team, European Supply Chain, Operations Planning and Logistics Service Providers for storage/distribution.
  • Manage raw materials to ensure the plant remains on-line and on specification, for the specific planned LDPE grades.
    • Ensure availability of adequate of raw materials and packaging to deliver the production plan, arranging for purchasing requirements to be fulfilled and coordinate suitable delivery of materials
  • Evaluate and communicate the impact of planned production activities upon logistics and its capacity limitations affecting production.
    • Report/review the financial implications to management.

COMPETENCY REQUIRED OF SUPPLIED REPRESENTATIVES

  • Candidate will need to have experience of logistics operations and planning and scheduling methodologies, ideally from a bulk solids or plastics production background. Minimum 3-5 years' logistics operations and planning experience and educated to HNC or equivalent.
  • Experience in SAP is essential for the role and competent with MS Office applications
  • Commination skills to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including being the primary link between the planning and manufacturing functions in the UK and the commercial function in Europe. Additionally managing the purchasing relationship with the suppliers, and communicating with multiple Logistics Service Providers.

TASKS

  • Arrange pre-loading, additional bagging runs, or container storage to ensure silo availability, instruct on-site and off-site Logistics Service Providers on bulk and packed transport activities
  • Update relevant reporting linked to production and logistic performance monitoring. Including but not limited to: silo utilisation, stock situation, on site residence times (OSR), silo mass balance calculation and Scorecard for production/loading volumes.
  • Lead as site logistics representative in weekly and bi-monthly meetings providing performance feedback and presenting relevant data as required.
  • Inform the on-site Logistics Service Provider on when to clean silos and carry out maintenance, and ensure charges are agreed.
  • Monitor plant raw material usage, highlighting any changes in expected usages and maintaining the production Bill of materials (BOM)
  • Clarify the causes of any deviations, or defects, that might occur with partner organisations (Logistic Service Provider, Container Stack Operators, external Warehouse) and agree the rectification
  • Audit stock inventory (product and raw materials) and usage across production and logistics, including Logistics Service Providers, to create a Mass Balance and account for discrepancies to maintaining compliance i.e. for HMRCE requirements
  • Maintains an accurate documentation trail and procedures to ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards for food consumption
