The Language Academy at UCLan is seeking applications from qualified and experienced EAP Tutors for the upcoming Pre-Sessional EAP programmes in the summer of 2024:

  • 10.5 week Pre-sessional EAP Programme* (Online)

Date: 19 June – 30 August 2024, including a 3-day induction

  • 6.5 week Pre-sessional EAP Programme* (Online)

Date: 17 July – 30 August 2024, including a 3-day induction

*staff may be asked to teach on other similar short EAP courses as appropriate

Please indicate the specific programme you are interested in and your preference for online or face-to-face teaching in your application. Availability for the entire course, including the induction period, is mandatory.

The positions are full-time, fixed-term contracts designed to cover the duration of the program, with teaching hours allocated throughout the week. Apart from delivering lessons, tutors will engage in assessment, progress monitoring, feedback provision, and pastoral care. Attendance at weekly meetings is also expected.

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree, significant EAP teaching background in an academic setting, and relevant teaching certifications such as DipTESOL, DELTA, Cert TESOL, or equivalent qualifications. Experience in creating educational materials is vital. A dynamic teaching style, organizational accuracy, and a proven track record of meeting deadlines are fundamental for this role.
