Are you interested working in a nationally leading research group delivering high impact health services research?
We have an exciting opportunity to join the School of Medicine and Population Health at the University of Sheffield, which encompasses some of the leading health services research groups in the UK. You will be embedded within the CURE research group ) and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire and Humber, Urgent and Emergency Care theme (arc-) giving you the opportunity to work with nationally leading health service researchers.
We are looking for a Research Associate with qualitative or mixed methods research skills and the passion needed to help improve healthcare services provided to care home residents. You will work on a NIHR funded mixed-methods study which is assessing how differences in implementation of enhanced community health services for care homes is contributing to differences in hospital admission rates between care homes.
You will conduct and analyse interviews with commissioners, health care professionals providing enhanced care services, alongside care home residents, family members and care home staff. You will work with the wider research team and stakeholders to interpret the study findings to provide recommendations for how enhanced health services for care homes can be improved nationally. You will also collaborate with nationally leading care home researchers ).
The post is funded initially full time for 18 months. You will be provided with academic training and career development opportunities both within the project and through the Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration. Opportunities to extend the post will be discussed before the end of the initial working period.
You will need:
- A PhD or Masters in a health/social care-related area e.g., public health, research methods or equivalent experience.
- Experience of conducting qualitative research within a health or social care setting, such experience within a care home setting is particularly desirable.
- The commitment and passion to help deliver a project to improve health services for care home residents within a strict time frame.
