We are currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a team at a well-established secondary school in Walsall. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and a desire to make a positive impact on their educational journey.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with students with SEND on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support plans for students with SEND.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Attend meetings with parents, teachers, and other professionals to discuss student progress and develop strategies for continued improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report back to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements:
  • Degree in education or related field.
  • Experience working with children with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the school and its students.
