We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join Biddick Academy's Geography department as Faculty Leader. We are looking for a driven, innovative and inspiring teacher who is committed to curriculum excellence and has the highest expectations for every pupil.

Located within a short drive from the vibrant cities of Sunderland, Newcastle and Durham, Biddick Academy is an Ofsted-rated 'good' school for 2021, known for its excellent reputation within the local community and is consistently oversubscribed year-on-year. We are seeking to appoint a colleague who shares our passion for learning and our determination to change lives through the education we provide. The successful candidate will have:


• Evidence of significantly improving teaching and learning and raising achievement within Geography;


• Experience of contributing to the professional development/coaching and mentoring of colleagues to improve outcomes;


• Ability to interpret and act on a wide range of key data to inform practice and expectations;


• An excellent knowledge of the Geography curriculum and evidence of identifying priorities and constructing an improvement plan within the subject;


• Excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate, support and challenge staff as appropriate.
